Growing up with 7 younger brothers taught me just how important the value of food is. The production, flavor, and presentation of meals. Making food from scratch, being creative and having fun in the kitchen is something my parents have shared with me & my siblings growing up. What we put in our bodies is meant to nourish us, sharing a meal with loved ones holds more importance than some realize. Being raised this way, the passion for good food and sharing it with others has always been a part of me. Before I started my culinary journey, I was studying art & design right out of high school. I came home during the pandemic & began to reassess. With a slight push from my mother, I enrolled in a culinary program at my local technical college. This is when I fell in love with every aspect of preparing, presenting, and celebrating a meal. The feeling of satisfaction I receive when putting a work of art that tastes as good as it looks on a plate was overwhelming to say the least. The humbling pride of getting to share my creations with others & seeing them enjoy it was beyond anything I had yet experienced in life. Currently, I’m working at my family’s restaurant, Pedal’N Pi, in Crystal City, MO. Woodfire Pizza & Bicycles are our specialty but we offer so much more. I host private dinners as well, which is my one of my favorite things as it allows me full creative freedom to make a personalized menu. It is my goal to learn as much as I possibly can from as many people, places, and cultures as I can. I equate food with love, as it takes shape through one of its many tangible forms. There are levels of family and history that go into every orchestrated dish, simple or complex. There are endless foods & people & places for me to learn about, and I am at a place where I want to explore and continuously learn as much as I possibly can.
