HEAD COOK: Raymond Filippi
COMPETITION: World Sandwich Championship
I began competing in culinary competitions in 2022 while serving as an active-duty member of the United States Coast Guard. I proudly represented and eventually became the captain of the Coast Guard Culinary Team. This is my second appearance at the World Food Championships (WFC); last year, I secured third place in the sandwich category, and this year, I'm coming for the win. My culinary skills have been sharpened through years of cooking aboard ships, at various stations, and even in Washington, D.C., where I cooked for high-level government officials. Outside the kitchen, I cherish time spent camping with my wife and three children, exploring new places. I also hold a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and have had the privilege of training with professional UFC and Bellator fighters.
