Joe Beland is the Pitmaster of TippyCanoe BBQ Crew, a championship competition BBQ team based out of St. Ansgar Iowa. Founded in 2008, TippyCanoe BBQ Crew competes in Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned contests across the country winning more than twenty Grand Championships. In 2011 Team Tippy was crowned National Champions at the Inaugural Sam's Club National BBQ Tour and Grand Champions of the "World Series of Barbecue" American Royal Invitational.
