HEAD COOK: Ann Jones

COMPETITION: World Pasta Championship

QUALIFYING EVENT: World Pasta Championship

My humble beginnings started on a stool, cooking next to my mom at a very young age. She taught me to make apple pie and as I look back, that was the beginning of my love affair with cooking. While I continued cooking along with my family at home and in our family restaurant, I was young and didn't realize this was my calling until years later and fully immersed in a career in Business instead of Food. With time, I have found a balance of continuing to work in my trained field as well as enjoying my food passion. I cook better-than-restaurant food for my family and friends on a regular basis and enjoy the thrill of contest cooking when I have the time. Although I am just a home chef, I have earned my title of "Pasta Queen" by friends and family and I fully embrace that title with pride!! On a very personal note, I have to give a shout out to my mom. Last year, she qualified in "Pasta" and we were to compete with/against one another. I was thrilled for this opportunity; but sadly it never happened. My mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and was unable to compete. My aunt, Janet Brown, proudly cooked in her place. On December 6, 2014, my mom, Rebecca Reece, lost her battle. Cooking at the WFC was a dream for her and I cook for her and in her memory.
