COMPETITOR

Carol's Cozy Cuisine

HEAD COOK: Carol Koty

COMPETITION: World Seafood Championship

Chef Carol Koty is a Connecticut native. She has been passionate about cooking and competing all of her life. After graduating from culinary school, she dove into the world of upscale wedding catering. It was there that she developed her signature culinary style of making fabulously elevated American comfort classics with a seafood focus and an innovative international flair. A seasoned culinary competitor, Chef Carol Koty has been featured on Food Network's Guy's Grocery Games, the Cooking Channel, and more. She has participated in the World Food Championships since 2013, competing in the bacon, burger, recipe, and seafood categories. In 2018, Chef Carol was honored to place in second at the World Seafood Championships after her signature dish received a perfect score. 2019 also brought Chef Carol Koty success when she again finished in second place at the World Seafood Championships. One of the peak moments of her competitive career was winning first place as Seafood Category Champion in the 2021 World Food Championships! She continued in the seafood category, finishing in the top ten 2022 and a third second place finish in 2023. Growing up in New England, Chef Carol Koty is passionate about all things aquatic. While attending college for marine chemistry, she decided to enter a pie baking competition at a local fair. Knowing that the kitchen brought her more happiness than any other endeavors ever did, she vowed that if the pie placed at the competition, she would quit her job and go to culinary school. When Chef Carol Koty won the blue ribbon, she did just that! Now Chef Carol Koty will be competing in the 2024 World Seafood Championship, where she is excited to bring her New England coastal perspective to Indiana. Between her scientific aquatic background, a lifetime growing up on the New England coastline, and a passion for all things mermaid and pirates, this Purple Princess is ready to take on the 2024 World Seafood Championship for a second win!!
