HEAD COOK: Elisha Griffitt

COMPETITION: Bacon World Championship

Hello Foodies and fellow kitchen beasts! I have always been in the service industry in some form or fashion. I was in the Nursing/EMS/Firefighting field for the first half of my professional career. Then life decided it was time for a curve ball and different path. I was diagnosed with MS and unable to perform my duties as a fireman. I was a lost soul for a bit but found my way back through cooking, and food saved my sanity. I realized you can help others through food/cooking in so many different ways and once again my life had purpose. I won the culinary lotto after school and was able to intern with the most talented Chefs in P'cola and surrounding areas. I have worked in some amazing establishments, managed some super cool kitchens, and got to help open a few from the ground up. I'm currently in the process of launching my own sauce with two of the coolest business partners on earth. I was at the WFC last year on a team that got in the top ten in seafood and man what a ride! I couldn't have survived anything that I have or be doing anything that I am now...without the love and support of my wife and kid(and dogs cause man do they have to listen to a lot of shady stuff). I can't wait to see what this year brings..cause we all would like to win of course but it's more about the camaraderie ( seeing your local chef mates out of work, seeing the chefs you met last year, and meeting new ones), lots of smiles and laughter, and the absence of anything else. Cheers, salute, and let's get it!!
