For over 29 years Dave Lorenz has been cooking chili and raising money for charity with his Duffy’s Irish Chili. Dave brings a fiery competitiveness to the pot of chili with a precise mixture of spices, sauces and choice meats. Some highlights of Dave’s chili cooking are below: • International Chili Society Grand Master Traditional Red Chili Cook, qualified and cooked in the World’s Championship Chili Cookoff 20 times • International Chili Society Grand Master Chili Verde Cook, qualified and cooked in the World’s Championship Chili Verde Cookoff 12 times • Champion of the following World’s Championship qualifying traditional red chili events: Oregon State Championship, Mexican National Championship (2), Lower Colorado Regional Championship, New Jersey State Championship (2), Connecticut State Championship, Hudson Valley Regional Championship, Saratoga Regional Championship (2), Central Massachusetts Regional Championship, Wachusett Mountain Regional Championship, Vermont State Championship, New Hampshire State Championship, Rhode Island State Championship, Sunshine State Regional Championship, Florida Keys Regional Championship, and North Carolina State Championship (3) • 1991 ICS World’s Championship, Traditional Red Chili – third place • 2007 ICS World’s Chili Championship, Chili Verde – second place • Nevada State Championship – third place in a field of 230 cooks • Cooked or judged chili in 29 states, Canada, and Mexico • Champion of the Vermont State International Chili Society and Chili Appreciation Society International cook-offs in the same day
