Her first foray into the kitchen was as a newly vegetarian teenager. While most of her experiences with cooking before that had been from a box or a can, she quickly found a love and appreciation for the culinary arts. Although cooking for the last 13 years, it wasn't until last year that she dipped her toe into the world of competitive cooking. Since then, she's won contests with Duncan Hines, Manischewitz, Atkins, Earth Balance, and Crock-Pot, among others, and started up her blog, www.cakeforever.com.
