My contest cooking began about 5 years ago locally and winning the competition gave me the motivation to seek out other recipe contests. Contest cooking is where my passion to experiment with products and create recipes took off. In 2013 I placed in the pasta category at the WFC earning me an invitation in 2014. Unfortunately I’m in the snow belt and hours before my flight was to leave 42” of snow fell, no one from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula was going anywhere for a couple of days. I’m excited to be invited into the Bacon category this year by Kenmore and determined to make up for last year’s absence.
