COMPETITOR
Mess Hall Canteen
HEAD COOK: Jake McPeck
COMPETITION: World Seafood Championship
I'm Chef Jake McPeck, 27, the Executive Chef and Owner of Mess Hall Canteen! Mess Hall Canteen has been open since January 15'! We got our start, by winning a custom built Food Truck on Food Networks, Food Truck FaceOff! I have 8 years experience in restaurants and catering! I got my start in 08 at Jays Catering as a prep cook. Got my first restaurant job in 2010 at 2nd Floor HB, I went from line cook to Sous chef and won the Taste of Huntington Beach in 2012! From there I went to Katsuya Laguna Beach/San Diego where I fell in love with Japanese Cuisine. The next years brought me to Benihana, Crow Bar Kitchen, Pucks Tavern by Wolfgang Puck and Wolfgang Puck Catering before opening up the Canteen! The last 3 years we have been selected by the Anaheim Ducks to participate in the annual "Dux in Tux" event where 40 of OC's top restaurants do a 6 course tasting menu for their guests. We are the first and only food truck to participate. This year at Dux In Tux, Chef Jake took home Best Bite of the Night, along side of OC's 40 best restaurants.
