I'm a home baker who has been baking competitively for over 25 years. I won the grand prize of $10,000 in the first recipe contest I ever entered. It was a cookie recipe contest sponsored by Crisco. That got me hooked! It was then I realized then that real people really DO win these contests!! I have three grown children and 7 grandchildren (the oldest grand child is only 9) and they are my best taste testers and my biggest cheer leaders. Nothing gives me greater joy than to bake for my family because my baking is my love made edible! I've competed in the National Pie Championships just about every year for the past 12 years and this year I finally won the best in show. Now I have my sights on the WFC and conquering this competition!
