Derrick Hayes born and raised in West Philadelphia, grew up cooking in the kitchen with his grandparents. He learned how to mix spices and season food for his family and extended family. Sometimes as many as 300 people at a time. He is a self taught chef and specializes in cheesesteaks and seafood. He mixes his on spices for seasoning different dishes at his restaurant.
