HEAD COOK: Stephen Nebel

COMPETITION: World Invitational Steak Championship - SCA

Always loved to cook! I have finished my Culinary Arts degree at Pierpont Community and Technical College in Fairmont, WV. At the end of my second year, I decided to add on and pursue the Baking and Pastry portion along with Hotel & Resort Management. In my 3 years of being at the school, I have been a 2 time member of the ACF (American Culinary Federation) Student Competition Team. My first year being on the team, we competed at the Northeast Regional ACF Student Team Competition in Atlantic City, NJ, where we placed 2nd and received bronze medals. My second year (current school year 2019-2020), I was named Captain of the school's competition team. We were bound for the ACF National Student Team competition that was to happen in Dallas in July of 2020. Due to the international circumstances with Covid-19 we were unable to go. I am a Certified Culinarian through the American Culinary Federation and look to pursue my Certified Pastry Culinarian when I finish my Baking portion of my degree. I am also a Line Cook at the restaurant, Bourbon Prime located in a Marriott hotel in Morgantown, WV for the last 2 years. I have served as a judge for some high school cooking competitions, as well as, served food with my school at the Capitol building in Washington D.C. to celebrate West Virginia's birthday in the summer of 2018. I have also participated in Culinary workshops that my school has put on to educate High School Culinary teachers, along with assisting with a food demo at a local Farmer's Market. I love cooking and I am very competitive, so it's no surprise that I find myself competing here at the World Food Championships.
