COMPETITOR
Chef Kern
HEAD COOK: Kern Chiasson
COMPETITION: World Soup Championship
Born in Berwick, Louisiana a small town nestled in the heart of south Louisiana’s bayou country, Chef Kern began his adventures into the fine arts and aromas of Cajun, French, Creole and Italian cooking. To this day, no one has influenced his culinary aspirations more than his mother, Dianne. Kern’s parents still reside today in the house he grew up in. His studies continued through New Orleans and Baton Rouge then to Atlanta where he leased himself as an executive chef working in 97 different country clubs, hotels and restaurants before starting his hospitality company in 1988. Chef Kern’s culinary and event planning expertise established his company as one of the leading hospitality companies throughout the Southeast. His mobile kitchen convoy crisscrossed America with customers, handling their corporate entertainment and client relation programs. This elevated the dynamics of the company’s execution of high-end events resulting in 21 consecutive years at the grandest PGA event of all, THE MASTERS. In 2009 Chef Kern opened a Fine Foods Store in Atlanta offering 53 original frozen entrees, fresh weekly specials of appetizers, entrees, salads and his famous Roasted Pecan Pralines. This process opened the door to Chef Kern’s Wholesale. Currently, Chef Kern’s Wholesale designs and manufactures frozen boil-in-a-bag entrees specifically to meet current clean label and nutritional standards and is an approved supplier for the US Army Unitized Group Rations Program, special operations and combat feeding world wide. Chef Kern’s goal is to equip his customers with the most convenient mass feeding opportunities in the world. Chef Kern thanks God each day for the opportunities, joy and gratification he receives from his life and being in position to generously give. Kern is a talented artist and videographer, good golfer, accomplished fisherman and blames his carpentry skills on his dad Elmo, he’s also a southpaw! He looks forward to that next culinary challenge and the fresh new taste of tomorrow. He adores his relationship with God, his wife Denise of 30 years, daughter Ashley and two beautiful grandchildren Caden and Avalon, and of course his chocolate lab Levee. Chef Kern often says to be successful in the food business you have to love it way too much, he does and it shows.
