TASTE OF LONDON to Feature WFC Champion Preston Nguyen

World Food Champion and rising star Preston Nguyen will be a featured chef this year at Taste of London, one of the UK’s largest culinary celebrations of the best chefs, latest trends and hottest restaurants.

Held in the capital city’s Regent Park, Taste of London is the official kick off to the summer festival season in the UK. Scheduled from June 14th to June 18th, the event provides Londoners and visitors alike with a one-way ticket to exclusive culinary experiences, live entertainment, and 120+ eclectic dishes, including exclusive, never-before-tasted eats.

“This is an exciting opportunity for our WFC Champion,” commented Mike McCloud, President/CEO of World Food Championships. “As we kick off a new season of Food Sport here in the states, international engagements and partnerships like this for Preston, our other champs and WFC are very important to our soon-to-be announced global expansion plans. We are thrilled that Preston will be able to participate in such an extraordinary and esteemed event and look forward to continued partnerships with other world-class food events.”

Nguyen will be one of the featured chefs at The Taste Fire Pit, which takes place on the center stage in the middle of the festival. Flame-fueled demonstrations will be hosted by the 2021 World Food Champion, as well as some of London’s favorite chefs like Coal Office’s Dan Pelles, Hoppers’ Karan Gokani, Cornerstone’s Tom Brown, Hidden Hut’s Simon Stallard, and prodigious Mexican chef Adriana Cavita.

Also new to the festival for 2023 are Dim Sum Terrace, a new concept and soon to open Harrods restaurant from the team behind Chai Wu, Sicilian-inspired Norma, MasterChef winner Alex Webb at Number One Park Lane, and Islington’s vegan-Caribbean Jam Delish. Big Mamma Group, who has just opened Jacuzzi in Kensington, will be putting on an Italian extravaganza from its maximalist Trattorias.

Further fan favorites will include Francesco Mazzei, Brindisa’s ‘anything goes,’ no fuss, no frills, latest concept, Bar Kroketa serving its renowned Spanish croquettes, contemporary Indian restaurant Kahani, and Adriana Cavita’s eponymous Mexican hotspot Cavita. Returning to Taste are some of London’s most loved dining spots including award-winning Sri Lankan restaurant Hoppers, Japanese restaurant Flesh & Buns, street-food stalwarts Roti King, and Taste veterans Burger & Lobster.

The World Food Championships is the largest competition in Food Sport, where more than 1,500 chefs, home cooks and pro teams battle each year for the chance to win the ultimate food crown and a share of hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money.
