Bob Harris, senior product manager for Wright Brand Bacon, calls the love of bacon “one of the most unifying themes of our times.” But the current bacon craze has turned into a brawl now that the Wright Brand Bacon is sponsoring the 2013 World Food Championships.
“We’re thrilled to have [Wright Brand Bacon] on board with the World Food Championships and to help us launch our new competition category dedicated specifically to bacon,” said Mike McCloud, the president/CEO of Trybe Targeting, the company producing the four-day experience.
Fifty of the world’s best chefs are coming together to see who’s worth their bacon in a competition held November 7-10 in Las Vegas as a part of the annual World Food Championships. The tournament-style competition has seven categories, including cooking competitions and an online recipe contest.
Winners will receive money from the $300,000 prize purse, and Wright Brand Bacon is awarding the bacon competition winner with $25,000 and the title of “Bacon World Champion.” View the competition details here.
Other competition categories include barbecue, chili, burgers, and sandwiches. All contestants will find Wright Brand Bacon in their pantries to aid in their creations. Read the news release here.
