World Food Championships heads for downtown Vegas

The World Food Championships will be held throughout the Fremont Street Experience, the Fremont East District and Downtown3rd District Nov. 7 through 10. More than 400 competitors will compete for their piece of the $300,000 up for prize money.

During the World Food Championships, many of the world’s biggest food competitions are combined in a single event. Competitors will battle it out in seven food categories: barbecue, chili, burger, sandwich, recipe, dessert and bacon.

This year's event will introduce the Ultimate Bacon Experience, where attendees can sample a number of dishes created with bacon. The Ultimate Bacon Experience takes place on Nov. 9, with two-hour sessions planned at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tickets are priced at $40 a person.
