I seriously stalked my mailman!
Of course he delivered the box on a day when I was out and about, but that was kind of cool because I came home to a big box on my door step. I was up my stairs so fast I am not even sure if I touched them. Kevin thought I had lost my mind, but then again I think he has that thought on almost a daily basis.
Once inside I ripped open the box and had to fight the desire to throw the packing peanuts all over the room. It was like Christmas and I was 5 years old!
In the box I received Orange Habanero Wing Sauce, Jamacain Jerk Wing Sauce, Honey BBQ Wing Sauce, Hot Wing Sauce, Four Leaf Balsamic Vinaigrette and Marinade, and Honey Dijon Dressing. Immediately I picked up the phone an called my kids. I had them all come over and participate in a taste testing of the sauces and dressings. We were all immediately drawn to the Jamaican Jerk Wing Sauce, and all but one of us fell in love with the Orange Habanero Wing Sauce. The one hold out was my daughter, aka Miss Picky Pants. She is terrified of peppers and freaked out as soon as she heard the word habanero. I assured her that I would not try to feed her something that would light her mouth on fire, and after some hesitation she gave it a try. Then grabbed the bottle and tasted it again. "Mmmm this is really good", were her exact words.
BINGO I knew we had a winner.

For the contest we had to choose from one of the World Food Championship categories. Those categories were:
- Burger- Sandwich
- Bacon
- Seafood
- Pasta
- Cheese Recipe
Well if you know me, you know that there was no question about what category I wanted to work with. Burgers are my guilty pleasure. I love making them with all sorts of wild ingredients, so that was the way I decided to go and set my mind to work immediately to come up with a burger recipe that would utilize the two sauces we all loved.
I invited all of the kids back over for the final taste testing, and couldn't wait to hear what the had to say. You know I was excited to get a resounding two thumbs up from everyone, including Miss Picky Pants. My son even tried to steal my bottles of sauce, ummm NOT!!
The great thing about this recipe is that it is so quick and easy to make. Now the family has a new favorite burger to enjoy with the fabulous Saucy Mama sauces.
So this is my Saucy Mama's 2014 Recipe Contest Entry. I hope you give it a try, I know you will be happy you did!
