Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada partners with World Food Championships

The World Food Championships announced today Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada as the official wine and spirit partner for its 2014 event. In addition to featuring specialty drinks at key locations throughout the event, Southern Wine & Spirits will also be the presenting sponsor for Champions for a Cause, a special event benefitting the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, taking place on Monday Nov. 17 at the Inspire Theater in downtown Las Vegas.

Only in Las Vegas can food, fame and fortune be combined into one jackpot event. The third annual World Food Championships, taking place Nov. 12-18, will invite the champions from some of the biggest and best food competitions around the world, featuring professional chefs and top amateur home cooks, to Las Vegas for one ultimate defining moment. With a grand prize of $100,000 and following a tournament-style format across nine iconic food categories, BBQ, chili, burger, sandwich, recipe, dessert, bacon, pasta and seafood, competitors will battle for their chance to claim the title of World Food Champion.

“Southern Wine & Spirits has been a great partner to and for the World Food Championships since day one,” said Mike McCloud, president of the World Food Championships. “We are excited to be working with them and featuring their world-class products at our event.”

On Monday, Nov. 17, the World Food Championships will host Champions for a Cause at the Inspire Theater in downtown Las Vegas. This charitable event will invite attendees to mix and mingle with World Food Championships’ personalities and celebrity chefs, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. Of course, the night would not be complete without featuring a champion-inspired feast, inclusive of drinks prepared with Southern Wine & Spirits.
