The World Food Championships Banks Another Local Texas-Based Partner

The World Food Championships (WFC) announced another Texas-based nonprofit, the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), will be assisting with the event’s Dallas debut this October.

NTFB is a hunger-relief organization that focuses on providing hungry North Texas area locals with access to nutritious foods. Each day, the NTFB and its feeding network of 200+ Partner Agencies, provide access to more than 190,000 meals for hungry children, seniors and families across 13 counties.

“The North Texas Food Bank is proud to partner with the World Food Championships, and we are excited that this year’s event is here in Dallas. This event will connect foodies to great food, and it will also help provide good food to those in need in our community,” says Anna Kurian, Director of Marketing and Communications for the North Texas Food Bank.

“We are so excited to partner with NTFB to help them fight hunger in the North Texas area,” said Mike McCloud, president and CEO of WFC. “In addition to elevating Food Sport in the culinary space, our team is always looking for ways to give back to the community.” WFC will be donating all of its unused products from its food pantry to NTFB. In addition, there will be donation bins located in Kitchen Arena for WFC attendees to bring canned food and non-perishable items to contribute in NTFB’s efforts. In years past, WFC has averaged 12,000 lbs in yearly food donations to local Food Banks in its host city.

Nearly 800,000 people across NTFB’s 13-county service area are food insecure (which equates to one in six people). This includes almost 300,000 children. Last year, NTFB provided access to more than 72 million meals. By 2025, NTFB's plan is to provide access to 92 million nutritious meals annually.
