Bull Outdoor Products Heat Up the 2013 World Food Championships

Share:

The “best burger” title is a tough one to come by, but if you pack your patties right, like Wade Fortin of Second City Smoke, you just might earn your way to the top. Fortin, who won July’s Bull Burger Battle competition at American Sale in Carol Stream, Ill., just outside of Chicago, earned his way into the World Food Championships in Las Vegas as a Team Bull Burger champion. There, he dished it out with more than 300 competitors in seven categories of food, won the coveted World Burger Champion title, and pocketed $15,000 in prize money along the way.

In the summer of 2013, Bull Outdoor Products, in collaboration with the World Food Championships, launched its inaugural Bull Burger Battle series of live event burger cookoffs. The series, which took place in five major cities across the country, sent the winner of each competition on to compete in the World Burger Championship as part of Team Bull.

“Cooking competitions, like our Bull Burger Battles, are sweeping the nation as an extension of America’s passion for outdoor cooking,” said Frank Mello, VP Sales & Marketing at Bull Outdoor Products. “We wanted to provide the best of the best with the opportunity to create the best food on the planet using our premium outdoor grill, and the World Food Championships was the perfect stage.”

Bull Outdoor Products, a presenting sponsor of the 2013 World Food Championships, supplied 55 Lonestar Select grill carts, which were used extensively throughout the seven-category competition.

“As a leading manufacturer of outdoor products, Bull Outdoor is the perfect partner for the World Food Championships,” said Mike McCloud, president and CEO of Trybe Targeting, producers of the World Food Championships. “From desserts to sandwiches to burgers, championship cuisine was created at the World Food Championships showcasing premium Bull Outdoor grills.”
