Homer's Backyard Ball Selected for World Food Championships Qualifying

AMARILLO -- Homer's Backyard Ball has been selected as a qualifier for the World Food Championships, the worlds highest-stakes food competition, slated for November 12-18 in downtown Las Vegas. 
 

The Homers Grand Champion, which will be selected at Homerstock on Saturday, May 17th, will receive a travel stipend and free entry to the November event. 
 

To compete to be the Homers Grand Champion, contestants must turn in all three categories (chicken, brisket and ribs). 

The local winner will then secure a spot in the World Food Championships, often referred to as The Ultimate Food Fight. 

The Championships are limited to 550 competitors, with a total purse of $300,000.
